going to the Post Office

Yesterday while watching Twilight Zone, I tried but couldn't finish - connection issues, I pin curled my hair. If I really try to do it nicely it takes 15 min.
Usually it's just an accident if it looks great. And this is what happened today.
Brushing is extremely important. Later on sculpting it with a comb is a key action.
Some litres of hairspray.
And voilà  !

Yes. Glycolic peels at SKIN clinic are marvellous and better than any cream ever.
I did bought the whole series (for 6 months) paying special offer prices and spent almost monthly rent by doing it. But well... no one knows it except me!

At SKIN clinic there's this amazing 'exfoliate cleanser'. It is definitively worth buying. It contains glycolic acid you can just continue treatment at home.
I always discover these kind of things (many all kind of things) so late...
My beautician lady is 28 and already had botox to prevent forehead wrinkles. Well...
that's not for me.
Anyway new antiredness creams helped me a lot but I still struggle with transparent loose powders. They are just to dark for me! So I ordered few kilos of White Loose Star Gazer Powder and I'll mix it.

So I pinned it on the sides and put on the genuine 40s dress, bought as never worn with tags.
My love hates it. Says I look like elderly person.
It's cotton so I like it. I don't feel the most comfortable or rather confident in it but once a woman at the airport loved it so much that I decided, ok maybe there's something in it.

I should definitively get a brown leather belt because this looks just simply embarrassing...

Anyway, sometimes I don't feel like it; recreating or building myself, but I just simply can't disappoint my fans!!! And they are there! Together with those who think I'm mental...
Especially this one around - 50years old - lady at the post office who always bursts out laughing when she sees me. Couldn't disappoint her either.
So I had a long walk in my new Vintage 60s - 70s wool cape that I managed to shoot for 30GBP and saw it on eBay also for 60-80GBP.

Nothing annoys me more than wind destroying my hairstyle. Especially when accidentally it worked. It seriously pisses me off and I just can't understand Why? WHY I ASK?? in Northampton, the furthest point from the Sea, is so Windy ?!?!
So I walk around in scarves.
It doesn't suit me. Doesn't make things look better but there's just nothing more to do.
I got the bag in TKmax for peanuts and Corder gloves eBay of course.

While I was getting to my destination I had to fight my way through all UNICEF consultants.
They had to have quite a fun when my heel stuck in between paving stones and I even managed to make another step without a shoe. Had to return and aggressively pull it.
Well, happens...
...to me quite often.
But after the post office I managed to arrive to the doctor in one piece with slightly raw feet, as usual. But I love Jones the Bootmaker! Even though it kills my feet I buy pair after pair.
So a nurse appeared to be an ex-hairdresser in 50s! She mentioned women had their hair set every week and it was the most busy profession.
In one piece I reached home checking bike shop on my way.
I am going to buy a bike.
My Danish Red Love with a huge wicker basket was sold. I thought nothing will replace it but now I decided it's time.
And so... I don't know what to choose!!!
And I have only 10 hours left to make the decision.

HELP!!!

This one:

or this one:

Not that I expect comments or something... but Please !!! if you read this, even if you don't usually comment, or don't care...but Please !!! Help me !!! which one ? only 10 hours...

And soon I'll be able to start bike - showing - off that has only one minus...How to protect your hairstyle. Naturally helmet is out of question.
I have two cloche hats, winter and summer one.
But scarves are always working.

Dita's collection

Dita von Teese posted very useful advice regarding How To Wear Your Stockings:

Stocking tips: Always buy more than one pair of the same style, so if once gets a run, just take another from a new package. Stockings are superior to pantyhose not just because they are more beautiful and feel more free, but because chances are, you may run one leg, but not the other, so the pair is not all lost when you have backups pairs. Next, do as the French do, and put the garter belt on FIRST! Panties (if any) go over the top so you can easily remove them for whatever reason and still have that lovely stocking and garter belt frame. Authentic fully-fashioned seamed stockings never have any lycra, therefore they have that lovely rasp of nylon, the welt with a keyhole in back, and of course, they have an authentic stitched seam and a cuban or french heel. Your garter belt must have stability to keep the seams straight; look for ones with six straps rather than four, one that is wide and sits firmly in place at the waist. Girdles and corsets accomplish this too. The stockings should frame the pelvis, not be too long, nor too short, but the top part of the stocking should rise to about mid-thigh. My signature stockings are made on the true vintage 1940s era mills, with every detail in place. Beware of faux seams and lycra! Welcome to the Cult of the Fully-fashioned Nylon Stocking! Accept nothing less!

And that's true. However some garter belts simply look terrible with panties wore over. Nylon stockings give you one and only feeling, are ridiculously expensive and no lycra imitation can replace them. There are only few pairs produced per hour that's why the price is around 20 EUR, 16GBP or 30 USD. Dita's collection used to be twice more expensive so I gave up on that long time ago. But not any more! I just checked and Secrets in Lace is selling them for 32 - 36 USD which is a surprise.

However it's still unavailable in Europe, which leaves us with Eleganti and Gio.
I'd recommend to have a break from Gio since last few pairs I bought were with holes, different length or simply unfinished welt. My favourite shop Stockingshq sent me a replacement, informed that they have few more customers with the same problem and the whole story had a happy ending.

Getting to the point ... not so long time ago Dita was involved in wonderbra collection.
There's no doubt she is stunning as always. She does a great job and is definitively presenting the brand in the most possible glamorous way. But it is also a bit of irony that artificial bust is advertising a perfect bra for all demanding women no matter the size and shape.
Because how does the collection really treats natural busts?

- with balcony bras which are sliding down from breasts
- with satin plunge bras that go smaller in sizes than the rest of the collection
However the one in dots and with movable straps and ribbons are one of my favourites.
And now... about 'looking for six straps garter belt'... the collection has belts and girdles with only 4 straps, so support is far from desired.

Of course whatever Dita is promoting I'm interested so I ended up with many bras - half of it I had to return, unfortunately - and garter belts.
It will happen again when only her new collection will be released.
Hopefully this time there will be min. 6 straps garter belt with panties wore over and cup sizes not only DD but even E if again some bras will appear to be smaller than the rest from the same line.

My stockings

I am partial to stockings and garter belts.

But it wasn't easy before I learnt what's good what's not and most of all what I like and what I don't. You can not try it on. Everyone likes it on different hight so you can not relay on shop assistants advice and info on the package is too general.
So I spent a lot of money during my life on stockings which were too short, once too long and rarely to tight. Surely I still will because it's always like that when you check new brand.

What I know now is that for me there are only and only seamed stockings.
The rest doesn't count. Maybe only if you feel like cleaning the house in some stockings and belt. Then please do that, but no seams, just plain ones so nobody will cry over a ladder.

Seamed Stockings

Dita's Book. Anatomy of a seamed stocking.

From so many kinds I guess all will agree the top is Fully Fashioned.
Only 30 pairs can be produced in one hour.

There goes the list that I've tried:

Gio
My favourite.
Very soft. Many sizes so you can really find the best fit.
Not so available though. Made on original Reading machinery.
There are only few old and traditional machines in UK.
This one was bought by Gio from Aristoc in 90s.
So these are stockings made in original way as it was in 50s.
There is no way any company can make these traditional FF stockings using modern equipment. That is why it's very important to find such FF!

It should cost max. 15GBP.
I've seen it on eBay many times much more expensive than it should be.

It works like this, Gio produces some supply, let it go to sell and we wait for another batch.
It takes a lot of time.

I'm size uk 12/ eur 38/ us 8 and 169cm.
I use 10 but it is long. For some belts I have to go down to 9,5.
I used grey - too greish, silverish, sick color, navy-blue - like it, black - is just black.

It can be point heel.

And cuban heel - my favourite.

What Katie Did
Foundress of this company had a goal. And it was to create high quality stockings for every woman in reasonable price.
I'd say she failed. It is quite expensive or just as the rest.
What Katie Did has some really good pieces. It's famous for corsets.
I have a lot of WKD lingerie and I'll write about it some other day - the minus - widely used polyester.
Their stockings are changing constantly. I was lucky to buy some time ago few pairs FF with red seam, natural seam and cooper color seam.
Not so many sizes. I chose Medium and I have to admit it's perfect.
I paid around 14 GBP and it's OK price.

It really doesn't loose shape after 6 months up to year of use (if you're lucky not to destroy it).
I buy it only if there's something in this price range.
I wouldn't give 20 GBP for a pair.
You can check it HERE.

Eleganti
You can find them in many online shops. Good, long, soft. Size M just perfect for me!
Nice seam. But after 6 months it gets longer and longer. It rather looses shape. I liked it when was brand new. But now I know I won't buy it again because for the same price I can get something which will last longer.

Not Fully Fashioned don't have the keyhole which is so exciting end of every FF.
The feeling is worse. Nylon is rough. Forget about the softness.
Very important!
 the 1940s look book

...and you really do have to buy one size bigger.
I often make this mistake and I don't and always regret.

Cervin
The welt contrasts so nicely. This stocking definitively doesn't melt in color. It is very graphic.
That's a plus.
The heel is a bit short. Doesn't look so distinguished.
And buy bigger than you should. It is cheaper than FF.

Eva Chic
Polish stocking. Very similar to Cervin. If not Cervins juicy welt color and a hill it would be the same.
Somehow black is smaller than cinnamon color. Why?
I bought exactly what Nylony Pl recommends and next time I'll buy bigger.
But price is so optimistically low.
They send abroad so anyone can get it. Here is online shop - XXX
